A10 Networks brings Fourth Generation of Appliances

A10 Networks announces six new Thunder Series appliances, including the industry’s fastest single rack unit ADC. The new fourth-generation offerings expand customer choice for entry-level, upper mid-range and high-end appliances. The appliances comes with scalability to 220 Gbps of traffic per second, 10.5 million connections per second, and defense for over 300 million DDoS attacks per second. The fourth-generation Thunder appliances scale and secure the most demanding data center applications and networks.

The new Thunder Series devices are based on A10’s innovative ACOS Harmony platform. All ACOS-based appliances leverage a data center efficient design, consuming less power, cooling, and rack space.

High-end (“S” appliances include SSL security processors)

• Thunder 7440(S), up to 220 Gbps in 1 RU, 48x10GbE, 4x40GbE, 36 cores, 3x FTA-4
• Thunder 6440(S), up to 160 Gbps in 1 RU, 48x10GbE, 4x40GbE, 16 cores, 3x FTA-4

Upper mid-range (“S” appliances include SSL security processors)

• Thunder 5840(S), up to 115 Gbps in 1 RU, 24x10GbE, 4x40GbE, 18 cores, 2x FTA-4
• Thunder 5440(S), up to 100 Gbps in 1 RU, 24x10GbE, 4x40GbE, 12 cores, 2x FTA-4
• Thunder 4440(S), up to 80 Gbps in 1 RU, 24x10GbE, 4x40GbE, 6 cores, 2x FTA-4
