Acer Introduces a New Range of Hybrids, Tablets, and Notebooks

Acer CEO, Jason Chen, reveals a new range of hybrid, tablets and notebooks, at its Worldwide Global Press conference. The new series is not only filled with features, also the company emphasizes on designs and colours. Acer has given a complete fresh look to all the devices and PCs.

The event begins with the introduction of Acer's Switch 10 system. It is a 10.10-inch hybrid windows laptop. Switch 10 comes with a special magnetic hinge; the company calls it "snap hinge" that enables user to detach it from the keyboard. It also allows to move display easily into different positions, as like a laptop. The system can be operated in four modes - laptop, tablet display and tent mode. It gets a captivating aluminum design and powerful front-facing speakers. The hybrid device is powered with Intel Atom Z3745 CPU, 2 GB RAM, zero-gap IPS HD 10.1 inch display and 64GB storage with optional 500 GB.

The company also introduces E-series notebooks, the E14 and E15 - featuring 14-inch and 15-inch displays. These are available with optional touch screens and six colour versions. It comes with a gesture-controlled touchpad and offers up to seven hours of battery backup. According to the company, it will be available in Asia and other selected regions by June at the expected price of Rs 18,000.

Acer Iconia One 7 and Tab 7 have also been announced at the event. Acer Iconia one 7 runs over Android 4.2 OS and features 1.6 GHz Intel Atom Z2560 dual-core processor, 1280 x 800 display. The latest Iconia tablet is powered by quad-core MediaTek processor, runs over Android 4.4 KitKat version, has 3G connectivity for voice calls and data transfer, and features IPS display. Both tablets are equipped with 3 MP front facing camera, but Iconia One 7 has 3 MP rear sensor while Tab 7 has a 5 MP rear camera. It will be available from mid-May or June in markets like Asia and Europe.

The company has also forayed in to the wearable segment, with Liquid Leap, a fitness-focused smartwatch that is expected to be available later this year.
