As the company marches forward in automating more and more of its business
processes, it also have to ensure that this in no way affects compliance with
regulatory standards. Add to this numerous locations across the country and the
multi-faceted departments at each location and you have a potboiler on hands for
the CIO. This was a short background to what Apollo Tyres faced when it
envisaged a web-based applications with different levels of authorizations for
different people.
The company has around 100 such compliances that need to be tracked across
150+ locations in the country. Some of these are: monthly sales tax returns,
deduction of TDS from salary accounts and the annual statistical return. All
these are time bound and any kind of delay would mean not only financial and
legal implications but also loss of face for the organization. With a slew of
statistical tools, the Dashboard provides the ability to generate customized
reports, send alerts on pending tasks, allows delegation of tasks and view
non-compliant activities. This project allows the management to have a complete
knowledge and control over regulatory compliance in the organization.
