The M4A89GTD Pro is a new top of the line motherboard from Asus which has on
board support for the latest interface technologies, SATA 6Gbps and the USB 3.0.
This board is based on AMD's G90GX chipset which is an upgrade to the earlier
790 GX and supports AMD's AM3 socket processors. This basically means that it
can house the Phenom II, Athlon and Sempron series of processors from AMD. This
board happens to be one of the first mobos with an AMD processor having support
for the latest interfaces. The board has an on board switch which if turned on
provides auto-tuning to the processor to an extreme performance yet stable
state. This helps in achieving extra processing capabilities whenever required
although it may be at a small power consumption premium.

decent graphics performance. In PCMark 05, the score was 8152 which is not a bad
score for overall productivity. While in POV-Ray, the motherboard scored a
rendered average of 53402 PPS over 3.68 secs which implies a decent display
.
Bottomline: High levels of performance at an enticing price tag on the AMD
platform is this motherboard's USP.
