Asus set to launch Zenfone smartphone with 'unique' video and audio features

Taiwanese  smartphone maker Asus is all set to launch its latest Zenfone in India. According to industry sources, the company is planning to launch a smartphone with 'unique' video and audio features.

The upcoming Asus Zenfone is expected to sport a 5-inch display and offer 2GB of RAM. No other details about the smartphone, including its name, are known so far.

Recently, Asus started rolling out Android 7.0 Nougat update for its Zenfone 3 smartphone. The update is available for both Zenfone 3 models - ZE552KL and ZE520KL, and introduces a host of new features and enhancements.

These include smart notification management and replying options, 72 new emoji characters, multi-window view with quick switching between apps, better 3D graphic performance with Vulkan API, new virtual reality mode for Daydream-supporting handsets, improved battery-saving Doze feature, data saver, display size adjustment and file-based encryption, among others.

Asus launched Zenfone 3 smartphone in India, back in August last year. Available in two screen size variants, the 5.2-inch version costs Rs 21,999 while the 5.5-inch display variant bears a price tag of Rs 27,999.

The Zenfone 3 is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor paired with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage, with support for microSD cards.

The dual-SIM smartphone has a 16MP rear camera with dual-tone LED flash and an 8MP front-facing shooter for selfies. Major connectivity options include 4G LTE, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS and USB Type-C, with a 3,000mAh battery rounding off the spec sheet.
