The Taiwanese tech giant Asus has launched two affordable notebooks X555LJ-XX177H and X555LJ-XX132H at a starting price of Rs. 28,999. The difference between the two models is the processor units. The Asus X555LJ-XX177H is powered by an Intel Core i3-5010U processor, with a 2.1 GHz base clock and the Asus X555LJ-XX132H is backed up by an Intel Core i5-5200U Processor with 2.2 GHz base and 2.7 GHz Turbo clock mode.

The former will be available from regular retail stores, while the later will be available exclusively from Asus stores throughout the country.

The notebooks run the 64-Bit versions of Windows 8.1. Both features a 15.6-inch HD (1366x768 pixels) resolution LED-backlit display with an aspect ratio of 16:9. The laptop weighs 2.3kg, and measures 382x256x25.8mm.

There is 4GB of DDR3 RAM and 1TB (5400RPM) SATA 2.5-inch HDD. Both the machines incorporates Nvidia GeForce GTX 920M GPU with 2GB of DDR3 video RAM, apart from integrated Intel HD Graphics 5500.

The notebooks features an optical drive (8.9mm 8X Super Multi with Double Layer) and 348mm keyboard with 19mm full size key pitch, integrated Numeric keys. In terms of connectivity, the X555 slaptops ports an RJ45 Ethernet jack, two USB 3.0 ports, a VGA port (D-Sub), one USB 2.0 port,  Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n, a headphone and mic combo jack,  and one HDMI 1.4 port.

They are further enhanced by the ASUS SonicMaster and AudioWizard technologies so you can enjoy immersive, crystal clear sound. Additionally, its Splendid technology has four optimized modes, which entails Normal mode for daily work, Theater mode for the ultimate movie experience, Vivid mode for photographs and Intense image viewing, and Manual- the user adjustment mode for the ultimate user experience.

In addition, the devices house the Asus IceCool technology which the firm says prevents heat build-up on the palm rest.  It runs on a 37WHr 2-cell Li-ion battery. Asus said that the notebooks has a 2 second resume from sleep mode so that it is always ready to perform at a moment’s notice. Also, transfer data super-fast with its two USB 3.0 ports.
