In a one on one with PC Quest Rahul Kumar, Country Manager – WinMagic India shares the experience of WinMagic in the Indian market and their services.

What is going on in winMagic and what is new?

WinMagic is a 2-decade old company we have made a significant progress. We have been able to a way in which we are serving our customer globally. And our philosophy is really to be focused right, that’s what we have been doing for 20 years. We bring an element of focus that our customers, partner, entire ecosystem appreciates because the market is much cluttered.

What we basically bring to the table is a focus on data address encryption of data addressed. We have been able to really see the light of the different acrobats we have. So we secure our customers. We help our customer to secure data address at endpoints and cloud infrastructure. So that customer would be able to secure the data address whether that is on your desktop, laptop or in cloud infrastructure. That’s what we bring to the table today. The cloud is the latest addition to our portfolio and we have we are been able to get very significant to customers globally.

Who would be your main competitors in the market?

We have different types of competition at the endpoints and very different set of competition on the cloud infrastructure. Players like cloud link and high trust are the only players who are in competition with us. So we have competition with them on the cloud infrastructure side and also we have players like Symantec, McAfee. But we are the only players which really help our customers secure the infrastructure end to end. And that’s the value proposition we bring to the table for customers.

Both from endpoint encryption and cloud infrastructure encryption what sort of customer base you have?

We have been here for a long time, and we have seen lots of change. There is significant shift and management of encryption is the biggest problem for the customers. That’s why we are also experiencing a good success rate in the enterprise market. The enterprise who already had an encryption solution from other existing vendors are also coming to us and replacing other vendors. However, replacement cost is high; so enterprise segment is definitely a good customer base for us. Especially on the point we have 3 out of top 5 insurance players as the replacement customers. Well, if talk about traction BFSI is the segment which is giving us maximum traction. IT/ITES is also giving us traction.

What are the vertical you are focusing on?

WinMagic is a horizontal solution so we see BFSI as one of our biggest segments. Pharmacy, IT/ITES and also we are seeing lots of traction on legal service as well. So these are the main verticals as of now we are focusing on.
