This multifunctional device is packed with a fax, scanner, digital copier,

and laser printer. Its flat bed design and optimally placed controls save office

space and give ease of operation. MF4680 comes with auto duplex feature for

smooth double side printing, integrated network and direct scan to email, USB,

fax, and network folders. Besides these, it also comes with standard 250-sheet

paper cassette, 35-page Automatic document feeder (ADF) for fast unattended

copying and faxing, Canon all-in-one cartridge-FX9, 64 MB SDRAM (supports up to

256 pages of fax and 99 copies), power saver, and tone saver mode.

Installation was simple and quick with CD containing various useful software

like Presto! PageManager for managing scanned pages and ScanSoft OminiPage an

OCR (optical character recognition program). Print quality was good with

excellent clarity. The feature that stood out in this device was speed of

printing and scanning; MF4680 gave us speed of 20 pages per minute for printing

text-only pages and took 30 sec (300 dpi) and 49 sec (600 dpi) for scanning a

color document. Here the time taken was less when compared to that taken by

Panasonic MB 772CX MFD (55 sec for 600 dpi).Printing quality of a monochrome

graphic was good with distinct black and grey areas. We also tested auto duplex

capability of this device and were able to print 10 pages in 100 sec.

Bottomline: Efficient device for SMBs, owing to its print speed and

network integration.
