With a price above 30k, first question is why anyone would go for this

monochrome laser printer when market is filled with MFDs that can perform

additional tasks. We were trying to answer this by checking features, print

speed, and print quality of this device. LBP 3370 comes with zero-warm up time

based on On-Demand Fixing technology that uses ceramic heater. Other

technological advances in this device are Ultra Fast Rendering II technology

combined with Load balancing technique (between computer and printer) that

results in fast document processing and printing. Compression technique used in

LBP 3370 is H-SCoA (High smart compression architecture) that compresses print

data into more manageable size. It comes with USB 2.0, network printing

capability and maximum resolution of 2400 x 600. 64 MB internal memory adds to

efficiency of this device.

In our test setup, LB 3370 was able to print first page in excellent time of

less than 7 seconds, 2 seconds less than LBP 3360 (rev in June 2007). To print

one page of graphics this device took almost same time. Quality of text was

excellent as expected from laser printer. One more test to check quality of

print was by printing character of font 2 and 4, print was crisp and clear. In

one minute LB 3370 was able to print 26 pages, 6 more than LBP 3360.
