If you thought Apple iPad Air is the thinnest tablet in the market right now, then think again. Intel has thrown itself into the mix by announcing really thin Llama tablet that will be seen running on Windows 8.1 OS. But the catch is, Intel will not be bringing the said tablet under its name, instead offer it to other OEMs, who will then replicate the reference design of Llama Mountain and dish out their own version of tablets.

According to Intel, the Llama Mountain design is a Broadwell-based prototype that combines probably for the first time, dual capability of a thin-sized motherboard paired up with a sisterboard which includes storage and a Wi-Fi radio.

Intel has acted pro-actively to the changing needs of the market and with a dwindling PC market, the company had no choice. It has openly advocated the need to look at future which clearly sights tablet and smartphone as the benchmark with other devices such hybrid notebook, smartwatch also being part of the set-up.

Earlier this year, the company showcased its smartwatch at CES in Las Vegas and openly talked about how 2-in-1's are going to be the future of computing.
