Canon MPC 600F

This MFD from Canon, like the previous two HP MFDs has got a feature rich control panel for ease of operation but there’s a slight confusion when you look at its main controls, which has two number pads. One of these is for keying in fax numbers, the other is for storing hot-keys or one-touch dials. it also has an ADF for printing multiple documents. It has separate color cartridges for Cyan, Magenta, Yellow which saves on overall running cost.

The MFD printed at 9 ppm text and took 2 min to print a full page color graphic in best mode, both of which are very good timings. Copying speed was 8 CPM and one color page was copied in 2 mins. Scanning took 37 secs for color page, and a text page took 25 secs. This particular MFD didn’t ship with an OCR software. Apparently, it shipped with Canon MultiPASS suite version 4.0, and only v4.3 contains the OCR software. So make sure you get the latest software if you plan to buy this. On the faxing front, it has several options like speed-dialing, delayed faxing, memory sending, and putting access restrictions to the MFD itself.
