CUSAT-Online Registration CAT 2007

Cochin University Of Science and Technology, Cochin (CUSAT) has at present 28

departments of study and research offering Graduate and Post Graduate programs

across a wide spectrum of disciplines. It needed an information system to

regulate and streamline the admission process, which starts from the

notification and goes till counseling. The system also needed to be online, so

as to be accessible to prospective students at all times and from anywhere and

they be able to track their applications.

The static part of the site gives the basic information about CUSAT and the

admission process, besides enlisting instructions for online submission of

forms. And, the dynamic part, has provisions for online registration, printing

of duplicate copy of confirmation page, viewing the status of application,

printing admit cards, seeing results, calculation of application fee-to serve

the prospective student users. Likewise, there are other set of dynamic pages

for administration purposes.

The Web solution uses ASP.NET as the front-end and SQL Server at the

back-end. The online modules are hosted at NIC's Web Farm under windows

platform, while for the offline modules CUSAT has got an IBM XEON server with

Windows 2000 and 3 IBM Windows XP clients.
