Cyberpunk 2077 has a large amount of content and a lot of it is very expensive. Good cybernetic mods can run upwards of a hundred thousand credits. Same with some of the legendary guns and that's before you even think about buying a car. Those can be really expensive. Much like real las vegas, Night city sucks the cash right out of you and it's much more difficult to get it back. With that in mind here's a complete guide to making money in cyberpunk 2077.

First things first, main story missions. If you're looking to earn money quickly in cyberpunk 2077 then main story content is not the answer. These are best used for experience gain and obviously, they are a one-time thing that's a given. Cruising through the main story is a huge part of the game definitely but if you're looking to farm currency for a particular item or mod, it's best to put them aside and focus on something else entirely. Now, let's start with the guide itself.

Cyberpunk 2077 Money Making Guide:

#1 Go Open World:

The easiest and most gameplay intensive method that I could find so far is to go to your map and sort by open world. There you will see all the blue NCPD icons that range from crimes in progress to organized crime hideouts. There is a large number in each of the districts ranging in difficulty from easy to hard. These should be your main priority in the cycle of earning money as a first step.

The reason for that is twofold. Not only do these missions very often come attached with a decent-sized reward but they also raise your street cred level. Street Cred in Cyberpunk 2077 is a progression mechanism by which the game allows you to access and do more gigs and jobs which are the next phase of the process. Also when clearing the blue crime indicators keep an eye out for cash rolls on tables or chairs whatever it is and especially watch for the larger white rectangle boxes. Those are safes and if you're lucky you can find around 1500 credits in them.

#2 Start Doing Ya Jobs

Advertisment

Once you're done with your NCPD crime missions and have earned all that you could, it time to switch over. Open your map and turn on the job filter. Then start farming gigs and other yellow marker icons. These are usually a bit longer than the crime alerts and pay more too. One step up from those are the yellow question marks which can be an hour or two long side missions or mini-campaigns. That being said, they are extremely rewarding but I'm not sure if the time is actually worth the investment eventually. Obviously you'll do all of them if you want to and they're quite fun but in terms of just raw efficiency for farming currency, you might want to stay away from the question marks.

For this method to work you will need to know inventory management. Pick up everything that deconstructs into greens and whites. When you were full on purples and blues deconstruct some of those that you don't need. If you really want to maximize just the currency aspect you can save any shotguns, LMGs, sniper rifles, or precision rifles because those seem to have the highest relative cost when sold to a vendor or a dropbox.

#3 Cross Convert Rarities

Now is the point when you offload the excess components that you have found and cross-convert between rarities. There is probably more than one location to do this but one such place is in Japan town. Under a bridge, there is a junk vendor that you can access after a story mission very early on. This junk vendor sells and upgrades parts of all rarities for a scaling cost. All you have to do is offload the excess green components that you have.

#4 Hacking

The last method is a lot slower but has the upside of allowing for hacking experience gain while you do it. All you have to do is ping any network you find and then breach any access point or computer you can. This has two benefits. One, it actually awards currency when you succeed and two, it gives you additional net runner components that can also be sold or used. For the puzzle, it's best to try and do all three of them at the same time but that can be kind of tricky.
