Cyberspace Bubbling with Activities

Fortinet recently revealed the fact that complaints by global Internet users

about crimes in the cyber space grew by 22% according to the IC3 2009 reports.

Reportedly there has been a loss of $559 mn caused due to the crimes of these

kinds. Of the total complaints received, most of them were done through FBI

scams(16.6%), non-delivery merchandise(11.9%), advanced fee fraud (9.8%),

identity theft (8.2%), overpayment fraud (7.3%), credit card frauds (6%) and

computer damage (4.5%). Interestingly, India ranks #5 in the list of Top 10

countries lodging complaints about cybercrimes.
