D-Link Smart III Series Highlights:-

Seamless Integration: The D-Link Smart III Series comes with Ethernet and Gigabit copper ports. Additionally, the last 2 or 4 ports of the DGS-1210 Series combine SFP and copper connectivity into one port and therefore provide a more flexible solution for upstream or downstream server connections via fiber interface

Extensive Layer 2 Features: Equipped with a complete lineup of L2 features, these switches include IGMP Snooping, Port Mirroring, Spanning Tree and Link Aggregation Control Protocol (LACP). Network maintenance features include Loopback Detection that detects loops created by a specific port and automatically shut down the affected port. And the Cable Diagnostics feature helps the network administrator to quickly examine the quality of the copper cables and also determine the type of cable error.

QoS, Bandwidth Control: The switches use the IEEE 802.1p standard for LAN Layer 2 QoS/CoS (Class of Service) protocol traffic prioritization. This enables administrators to set different priority to different applications, users, or data flows to guarantee a level of performance for a particular data stream. Without QoS in place, real-time applications such as video streaming will fight over available bandwidth and result in lag and poor performance.

Network Security: D-Link's innovative Safeguard Engine function protects the switches against traffic flooding caused by virus attacks. The switches also support 802.1X port-based authentication, allowing the network to be authenticated through external RADIUS servers.

Versatile Management: With D-Link's Smart III switches, businesses can prioritize traffic, segment networks, enable redundant network links, closely monitor security and remotely manage the network. In addition, Smart III switches can also be used as a central switching device for small office connectivity or at the edge of a network. This way, management and monitoring capabilities are easily accessible from a standard web browser - anywhere, anytime
