The company which recently decided to go private had launched its Latitude 10 Windows 8 operating system powered tablet for the enterprises in India back in November last year. And after much introspection and planning the company is ready to hit the highly-competitive consumer tablet space in the country where brands like Samsung, Micromax, Asus and Karbonn Mobile among others have established themselves over the years.

Dell is the latest PC manufacturer to eye the potential of Indian tablet segment and the likes of Lenovo recently made their foray as well which means that Indian consumers will have varied options/brands to choose from.

Google recently launched its Nexus 7 2013 model in the country priced at Rs 20,999 for the Wi-Fi 16 GB model. Other brands like HP are also expected make their tablet offerings available in India sometime in the near future.

Dell will be launching its 7 inch, 8 inch Android powered tablet and an 11 inch tablet running on Windows. The company has not divulged on its pricing strategy for the products but assured us that the products will be widely available across the country by end of this year.

” We have taken our time to enter the consumer tablet market in India and after thorough planning and research we have decided it is time to for full throng with our products, which should be out in the market soon,” a company spokesperson said.
