New Update

This is a layer-2, fully manageable switch with 24 10/100/1000 Base-T ports and 4 Gigabit Ethernet combo ports (RJ-45/SFP) that provide 56 Gbps switching capability. The GUI interface for managing switch through a web browser is very user friendly and also supports SNMP v3. The whole stack can be managed as a single entity with a single IP.

It supports IEEE 802.1D Bridge with the capability of dynamic data switching and can store up to 8K MAC addresses in its forwarding table, and 1024 static MAC addresses. It provides upto 256 Virtual LANs using IEEE 802.1Q, port-based, private VLANs, and voice VLANs, and supports Rapid Spanning Tree Protocol (RSTP) which includes STP backward compatibility mode.

The switch supports flow control, based on the IEEE 802.3X standard. Anybody can use the full-duplex mode on any port whenever possible to double the throughput of switch connections. Operating temperature is -20°C to 65°C.The switch is also well packed with enhanced security and advanced QoS to the network edge with easy manageable features.

We tested the switch using IxChariot's Qcheck. It gave an average throughput of 444 Mbps on transferring 1,000 bytes of payload from one end to another on 1 Gbps and 95 Mbps on a 100 Mbps connection and the response time in both was 1ms. This is lower than its own sibling, the Digisol DG-GS102, but then this switch scores over the other in features.

Bottom Line: A standard switch for small businesses and data centers. We recommend it if you don't have very high workloads.
