JBL CHARGE

This is an improved version of the Flip in almost every way. They have

also introduced vibrant colors in this new JBL Charge. One of the most

important updates in this model is that you can charge it via Micro-USB

instead of a proprietary charger. Plus, its battery size has also been

doubled as compared to the Flip. Its 6000mA/h battery played around

11hrs in mid range volume in out test. The speaker even has a USB port

that can be used to charge other devices like your smartphone. The quality

of sound in this portable speker is quite good and loud. However, the

previous scored slightly better in sound quality.

The main USP of this portable speaker is that it also has NFC with

Bluetooth which is an added advantage. The unit is heavy and even

bigger in size than all other portable speakers we have featured this

time. It has a Micro USB socket which you can use to charge/power

the device, and there is also a 3.5mm Aux In port. There is also a

smallish Bass Port too. Above the sockets you have the area where

you tap the phone to enable the NFC pairing. It also has voice

prompts like Jabra and Rapoo, about 8 hours out at a moderate

LOGITECH UE MINI BOOMBOX

This is an upgrade to Logitech's popular Mini Boombox that was launched last year. Called the UE Mobile Boombox, the mini-speakers have been introduced under Logitech's Ultimate Ears brand. While the earlier Mini Boombox had touch-sensitive buttons on top ofthe speaker and also had a glossy exterior, the Mobile Boombox has a rubberized, more rugged casing, and standard buttons on top of the device. It has much

more improved sound and design than its older sibling. It doesn't vibrate at high volume which was something we noticed Mini Boombox. The speaker comes with a Micro-USB port for charging the unit, around provides coverage up to 40 feet. Its battery lasts 8-9 hours. Overall, it's a great option.

JABRA SOLEMATE

The Solemate from Jabra is a rugged speaker that ships with a durable sound bag which is rain and dust resistant. You can even use it while playing the music. This bag therefore lets you easily listen to music on the beach or while driving a motorbike or in other ‘dusty' environments. It's available in black and white. It has three buttons on top. Two are for increasing/decreasing the volume, while the third is a multipurpose button to answer and end phone calls. It can also provide information about the built-in rechargeable battery status. Pairing the Solemate with a variety of devices was seamless. One side of this speakers near the power switch

has two ports: a 1/8-inch (3.5mm) audio-input jack and a Micro-USB port for charging the speaker. The Solemate includes a 1/8-inch audio cable for connecting directly to the headphone jack on an audio source. F&DSWAN                                                                                                                  This was the cutest speaker we received for review. As the name suggests, it's shaped like a swan. All the navigation and playback controls are situated on top of the speaker. It uses Bluetooth 4.0, supports connecting with two devices at once and has a built-in microphone for voice calls. The built-in lithium-ion battery provides up to 5 hours of use on a full charge. This is perfect to carry around as it is very portable. You can fit this in your car for reading aloud messages and receiving calls apart from playing music. Pairing this speaker with your phone and laptop is very easy. We didn't face issues while connecting it to a sound source or playback. The sound quality is very nice and creates a 360 degrees sound field.

BOSE SOUNDLINK MINI

Bose, a company known for premium and expensive product line up just launched Bose Soundlink Mini at 16,200 without compromising on the quality of its product. Wrapped in a silver anodized Aluminum body, it's nicely crafted with a flat metal grille face which makes this different. Little heavy for its size but it can easily be carried around. The extra weight is due to those big magnets that have been put inside. The controls are arranged neatly in a row of rubber buttons on top of the speaker. The Soundlink can remember 6 different Bluetooth devices which is really

handy when switching between different devices. You can get 7 hours of playback but the problem is that this doesn't charge through the micro USB port. Instead,it comes with a charging cradle that accepts the same power connection as the speaker itself. Good feature in power management of this SoundLink is it turns off after a few minutes of non-use when on battery only. SoundLink Mini puts out some impressive room filling sound and is very clear when outdoors also. The SoundLink Mini's solid high-mid performance gave it an edge over all other speakers.

JBL FLIP

The Harman JBL Flip is a versatile portable speaker with a very compact design. It is a mono-audio type and plays on an Amplifier of 2.5W which creates a noise of 80 decibels. It has an innovative design which is shaped into a can-like structure that makes it very handy to use. Its shape allows you to place it in vertical or horizontal positions without creating

any hindrance to the sound. The sound quality is at par with the other products in its class. The audio playback is tremendous even at high

volumes, though there is a little distortion in bass. The device

is Bluetooth-enabled for audio playback in smartphones, tablets and other devices that support Bluetooth, though the range of the bluetooth is low. The device weighs only 160 gm which makes it more user-friendly and handy. It is supported with wired/wireless terminal/ports of 3.5 mm for

audio output. The speakers have a built-in microphone and

call answer button too which is a unique and extra feature for

products in its class. The device is really easy to handle, and is plug and play. Although the price is affordable, it is a bit expensive when

compared to similar products. The device also lacks USB

connectivity.

RAPOO A3060

As a less known brand, we didn't expect much from this model until we paired it with our smartphone. We were surprised with its features, build quality and design. The Rapoo A3060 looks like a mini metal cylindrical can with a capacitive control buttons on the top for pairing, volume level and track change control and call receive. It's very small, but elegant and

classy. The metal body is quite solid and heavy and sits firmly wherever you place it and does not bounce when you play it at high volumes. Rapoo A3060 uses the Bluetooth 4.0 spec has built-in rechargeable battery that's good for about 5 hours of playback, and charges via a microUSB port. At the base, you have the on-off switch, the micro-USB charging port, and the

LED indicator light. The sound quality is decent given its size. The speaker is capable of 360° sound projection, making it a good choice for a conference calls.
