With the price varying from Rs 3,500 to Rs 5,900 and an exceptionally expensive Asus 5900 priced at Rs 14670, the low-end PCI Express cards exhibit good value for money with a small compromise on the performance front.

One interesting feature that has come out in two of the low-end PCI-E cards is the TC (Turbo Cache). Zebronics 6200TC and Leadtek WinFast PX6200 TC TDH have this feature. This means that they have only 64 MB of VRAM but they are capable of sharing the system's RAM when it is free and thereby increase their RAM rendering capabilities to 256 MB. This TC technology has been developed by

NVIDIA.

In terms of chipsets, the category had three cards based on the NVIDIA GeForce 6200 chipset, three on the ATI Radeon X300 SE chipset, one on NVIDIA GeForce PCX 5300 and one on NVIDIA GeForce PCX 5900 chipset. The Asus Extreme N5900 was the only card in this category that had video capturing capabilities (it was the most expensive as well).

Leadtek PX6200 scores over the Zebronics in the price. Priced at a mere Rs 3,500, the Leadtek card is one of the cheapest among all the PCI-E cards we got. Based on the NVIDIA GeForce 6200 chipset, the card has only 64 MB of VRAM but it's TC feature enables it to share the system RAM and increase the RAM for rendering to 256 MB. The card ships with no game. But in the low-end category, the XFX 6200 PV-T44P-KAH6 is the only card that ships with some games.

Zebronics 6200

Just as the other winner in this category, the Zebronics 6200 is based on the NVIDIA GeForce 6200 chipset. This graphics card is, by far, the best performer in its category and beats the nearest competitor by a margin of about 14% in the 3D Mark benchmark. The only benchmark in which this card in the category managed to scrape past the Zebronics is Doom3.

Asus Extreme N5900 managed to do this, but then the price difference between the two, makes up for the minor performance deviation.

The card does not come with any games but does bundle some software with it such as XmediaStrom Personal Video Recorder and PowerDVD 5. RQS# E25 or
