Facebook Furthers Social Immersion With "Home" App

Facebook has announced "Home", a launcher app for Android that changes the traditional Android homescreen with an immersive Facebook UI that puts the focus on your news feed, photos and messages from friends. Once the phone is turned on, a stream of posts from your news feed fill the screen with vibrant pictures layering the background. Notifications about friends,calls,updates and events show up as popups on your home screen and can be swiped away or clicked to see more. Facebook's messenger app will also play a key role in the experience, as chat "heads" pop up if your friends message you. These chat "heads" pop up regardless of the app you are currently in, making sure you are always connected and ready to respond to the messages. 

An app launcher is also available, and your favorite apps can be added to it as shorcuts and more screens can be added. Facebook "Home" actually works as a "launcher", which is an app that changes the user interfae of your smartphone and customizes
