New Update

Bangalore,India: Although the app has been popular in the Google Play store, it only has a rating of 2.2 stars out of 5 from users. The app was touted by Facebook in an announcement to revolutionize the social networking experience by replacing the standard Android home screen with a news feed from Facebook, and chat heads that will appear on top of any app that is running if a friend messages the user. However, the low rating does not bode well for the future of the app, although it is still basic in its features at the moment. Over 6000 users gave it just a "1-star" rating, with many of them citing that the app drains battery very quickly. Another common complaint was that it prevents the use of widgets, with a user Lee Milstein saying that "Cool way to use facebook, but with no support for my other widgets, it limits my phone". Another user complained that he was not able to receive notifications for missed calls and instagram posts on the lock screen or home screen. However, Facebook has said that it will rollout incremental updates for the launcher app over the coming months, so users can expect more features in the future. Out of over 12,000 votes, only 1,947 of those votes gave the app a full 5-star rating.
