Google Launches People Cards in India to Make Searching More Accessible

Google just announced through its India twitter handle the launch of People cards. This is an India only feature at the moment and will let users create a business card like profile on Google through their Google account. Using Google's People cards users will be able to create a virtual business card to make themselves easier to find on search. The process to make a Google People Card is relatively simple and straight forward but does require a Google account and a mobile number to register. Google has been testing its People Card feature for some time now and has finally announced it officially. Lauren Clark, product manager at Google said “You may be wondering why we're launching this feature in India first,” said Clark in a briefing. “We are always looking for new ways to make search more useful for people, and we found that there was some unique information needs to India that we could help serve first.”

It looks like Google is trying to give the average user on its platform the same level of searchability as they have been giving to businesses. With the help of People Cards users can make their own profile on Google and decide to give only the information they want to the public. To create your own People Card on Google you can use your mobile and connect your People Card with your social media accounts. This feature is especially beneficial for self-employed users and freelancers. This will also allow people to connect their people cards with their business on Google so if anyone searches for a business then they will be able to get the contact information of the owner as well.

How to Make Your Own People Card on Google?

The process to make your own People card is fairly straight forward. There are two methods to add yourself to search.

• Method 1: Login your Google account on mobile and search yourself on Google. Then you will see the option "Add yourself to Google Search". Tap on that option and fill in all the details to make your own people card.
• Method 2: In this method just search “add me to Search” once you have logged in your Google account on your mobile. Then you will see the same "Add yourself to Google Search" option. Select the option and fill all the details you need to.
