The phone will be getting Android 5.1 Lollipop update, a welcome news for those who still had got their hands on Nexus 4 released last year. The new Lollipop update will bring some new tweaks under notification, Wi-Fi, screen pinning etc.
Android 5.1 Lollipop: Key Improvements
Security
5.1 Lollipop includes a new lock feature allowing you to secure your device, even if it has been lost or stolen. Device Protection tab being enabled, the device cannot be accessed after a factory reset, unless the other person has your login credentials.
This function is enabled by default as long as you have an compatible device, a secured lock screen (via a pattern, PIN number or a password) and are signed into a Google account.
Enhanced Quick-Menu Settings
The improved quick-settings now includes new animations, as well as tweaks to the Wi-Fi and Bluetooth menus for richer user experience
Choosing a Wi-Fi network is easier as now with the drop-down you will find arrows next to the buttons providing the connections list directly from within the quick-settings menu.
Screen pinning
This is another interesting security feature and is also one of the best ways to keep your phone secure while somebody else is using it.
It locks the device into an app or folder so that, thus the person using it isn't able to exit that app without the corresponding PIN code when your phone is shared by another party. The feature is simple to set up and you can secure your phone from friends or your children or your partner from hovering around.
