Seagate

has been winning this category since we introduced it in 1999. This year is no

exception. What should worry them, though, is the significant improvement that

Samsung has made in its UPI–it has almost doubled its UPI in one year!

IBM and Quantum were the only other brands to be mentioned by the

respondents. Seagate rated high on both quality and brand value. Both Seagate

and Samsung got similar support across all the four regions, and across metros

and non-metros. In current ownership, Samsung scored slightly low in the East.

If

past experience is anything to go by, then we should see some interesting action

in this segment in the year ahead.
