HIGH-END WORKSTATIONS

Earlier this category was called workstations, but with the line between a PC and a workstation becoming thinner, we’ve renamed it high-end workstations. Last year, HP won in this category, with Compaq as the runner up. This year, Compaq catches up with HP, but can’t dislodge it. So, there are two winners this time: Compaq and HP. IBM,

Siemens, and Sun make up the rest of the UPI list, with the votes for Siemens being surprising.

Predictably, the votes polled in this category were not sufficient to do region-wise splits or analyze reasons behind votes.
