How the Public Transport System was Modernised in Raipur

The Challenge: Municipal Corporation of Raipur manages the city transport buses. They have eighty buses which will increase to 150 within a year. They wanted to monitor the departure and arrival time of buses to improve customer satisfaction. They also wanted to monitor the length of each stop as well as head count in the bus to cross check revenue collection.

The Solution: They have installed LCD monitors on all main buses stops which display the estimated arrival time of a particular bus for passenger convenience. The company also installed BT 600 tracking device with camera in public transport buses. The client can now see the real time movement of buses and passenger pictures from moving buses. All pictures are saved on betaar3 server for 7 days for review. This feature also prevents misuse of buses. This is a key tool to prevent any illegal or unauthorized activity in the buses. Keeping in mind the current events in the country where women passengers are being harassed in public transport buses, this feature will prevent crime.

The Result: It is now possible to remotely supervise bus conductor and passenger movement. Also, online and real-time reports have been made available for analysis.
