HP and Google Collaborates to Manufacture Chromebooks in India

In order to support the Make in India campaign, HP and Google have established a partnership with Google to manufacture Chromebooks in India. According to a press release, this partnership aims to advance a shared goal of improving the state of digital education in India, providing educational authorities, schools, and institutions with cost-effective, secure, and high-quality computing devices, and enabling more students to improve their educational experiences.

HP Flex Facility Plant

Chromebook devices are manufactured at the Flex Facility near Chennai, where HP has been manufacturing a range of laptops and desktops since August 2020. HP Chromebooks will begin production on October 2, 2023. Chromebooks are leading devices in K-12 education. , which helps more than 50 million students and teachers worldwide. These Chrome OS devices have built-in accessibility and security features that deepen classroom connections and keep user data safe.

Google said earlier this month that Chromebook platforms will receive regular automatic updates for 10 years, more than any other operating system has promised so far.

Which HP laptops are manufactured in India?

According to the company, HP has expanded its manufacturing operations in India from 2020. From December 2021, HP started manufacturing laptops in the country, including HP EliteBooks, HP ProBooks and HP G8 series laptops.

In addition, HP has expanded its production to include a variety of business desktops, including desktop mini-towers (MT), mini-desks (DM), small form factor (SFF) desktops, and a wide range of all-in-ones.
