This small-sized network printer is ideal for a workgroup of upto 10 users
that can efficiently utilize its built-in Fast Ethernet connectivity. It also
has a USB port for single PC connectivity. When connected to a network, the
printer automatically scouts for an IP address from the DHCP. The LaserJet
printer can handle complex print jobs, thanks to its 600 MHz processor and 128MB
memory, which can be expanded upto 384MB. The printer employs HP Fastres and HP
Prores technologies to give prints at 1200x1200 dpi resolution. The duplexer
support lets you save on time and paper with convenient automatic two-sided
printing.
The intuitive yet small and single line LCD control panel lets you do all
settings for the printer. The input tray has 250-sheet capacity, and for higher
printing needs, there is provision for an optional 500-sheet tray also.
In our tests, LaserJet P2055dn was able to print the first page from low
power mode (idle state) in about 20 seconds, showing it takes lesser time to
warm up. For normal state printing, it gave out the first page in 9 seconds.

The quality of the text as well as graphics was crisp and clear. It print
speed is 33 pages per minute while Canon LBP 3370 ( reviewed in Dec'08), also in
the 30k price segment, clocked a print speed of 26ppm and it lacked a duplexer.
Bottomline: Ideal for SMBs and even for enterprise workgroups that need a
fast, reliable, space-saving, monochrome printer to produce high quality
business prints.
