New Update

HTC Butterfly is widely regarded as the costliest android smartphone in India. HTC prefers their smartphones to be rugged and sturdy, and that shows in Butterfly's rugged unibody build. It fits snugly into one hand as it's been kept thinner and longer like the iPhone 5 (64GB), another high end smartphone, priced at 53k.

The iPhone 5 has a 4inch screen which isn't even HD, while Butterfly has a stunning gorilla glass layered 5inch full HD display with a high 441ppi. The only other smartphone with that much pixel density is Sony Xperia Z. iPhone 5 is lighter than Butterfly, but then Butterfly at 140g is far from heavy. It has a striking pair of cameras. Both can turn out first class full HD videos and photos and have a lot of handy camera functions and modes. It has 16GB internal storage and can be stretched to another 32GB with a micro SD card.

Its price can be called a let-down, but once you factor-in its features you will realise it is actually pushing smartphones to newer heights. At 35k, Sony Xperia Z is cheaper and tempting, but has a TFT based smudge prone display, whereas, Butterfly's AMOLED is gorilla coated and offers by far the best visuals in a smartphone. Butterfly, can't provide the creative medley of Note 2 or its side by side multi-tasking, but it does have an equally hefty quad core processor and 2GB memory, a much superior display and is thinner and lighter by 40g.

Butterfly's battery back-up, in our battery test, is a respectable 6hours, which is at par with the likes of Galaxy S3 or Nokia Lumia. The device can source plenty of high quality leisure stuff and is a dependable productivity device as well. You can download whatever apps you want from Google Play, and since the touch response is flawless and typing accurate, you will like using it.
