HTC Unveils U Series Smartphones with AI Assistant Sense Companion

HTC has launched its new flagship line, dubbed the HTC U with two new phones, the U Ultra and U Play.

Both the smartphones will be available in Ice White, Brilliant Blue, Cosmetic Pink, Sapphire Blue and color variants.

With this new series, HTC has entered the AI scene with HTC Sense Companion that learns the working patterns of the user and optimizes the device based on the generated pattern. This feature keeps the users updated with their day to day routine, weather and more. Both the handsets have dual-SIM compatibility and run on Android 7.0 Nougat OS.

HTC U Ultra

HTC U Ultra comes with a dual display which reminds me of LG V20. With a 5.7-inch QHD LCD display, it also comes with a 2-inch screen on top with 1040×160 pixel resolution. In terms of screen protection, the 64GB variant has a Corning Gorilla Glass 5 coating while the 128GB version has Sapphire Glass coating. You can expand the inbuilt storage of both the devices by using a microSD card.

HTC U Ultra is powered by the quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor with 4GB RAM.

On the camera front, the smartphone comes with a 12-UltraPixel 2 rear autofocus camera with BSI sensor, OIS, PDAF f/1.8 aperture and LED flash. For selfie freaks, it has a 16-MP front camera with the same BSI sensor. The camera can also record 4K resolution videos with 3D Audio.

HTC has introduced U Ultra with top-notch audio features and it supports HTC USonic, HTC BoomSound Hi-Fi edition, 3D Audio recording with 4 microphones, Hi-Res audio stereo recording, Hi-Res audio with noise cancellation.

HTC U Play

U Play packs in a 3000mAh battery and HTC claims that it can deliver up to 26 hours of talk time on 3G or 4G with Quick Charge 3.0 support. On the connectivity front, the smartphone supports 4G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v4.2 and USB Type-C (USB 3.1).The HTC U Play has a 5.2-inch full-HD (1080×1920 pixels) resolution display with Super LCD and Gorilla Glass protection. Powered by an octa-core MediaTek Helio P10 processor with 3GB or 4GB RAM, U Play will be available in 32GB or 64GB inbuilt storage with microSD card support.

The HTC U Play has a 5.2-inch full-HD (1080×1920 pixels) resolution display with Super LCD and Gorilla Glass protection. Powered by an octa-core MediaTek Helio P10 processor with 3GB or 4GB RAM, U Play will be available in 32GB or 64GB inbuilt storage with microSD card support.

It has 16MP rear camera with f/2.0 aperture, BSI sensor, OIS, PDAF and dual-tone LED fash along with the same 16MP front shooter on HTC U Ultra. The handset has a 2500mAh battery and according to HTC it provides 15.2 hours of talk time with fast charging support.
