New Update

The Problem: In the Indian Port Community, exchanging data, getting status updates from trading partners or transacting business with other members of the community take place manually resulting in re-entry of data into their internal systems at the cost of speed and accuracy affecting their service levels to their customers. As the dominant players of the community (Customs, Ports, Banks etc.) begin to adopt electronic exchange of data and e-commerce practices, other members of the community are forced to comply.

The Solution: Centralized Web Based-Port Community System (PCS) is an initiative by Indian Ports Association (IPA) at the instant of Ministry of Shipping intended to integrate the electronic flow of information and function as the centralized hub for Indian Ports and other stakeholders like Shipping Lines/Agents, Surveyors, Stevedores, Banks, Container Freight Stations, Government regulatory agencies, etc. through common interface.

The Result: Due to the electronic nature of the system, most of the information is now available in real time. Submission of information in a well designed workflow helps speed up the regular process.
