Intel introduced the Intel Compute Stick in India, powered by an Intel Atom Quad-Core processor. This ultra-slim device is capable of transforming any HDMI display or monitor into a fully functional computer. The Intel Compute Stick will serve as a new standard for stick computing devices which are enabled to deliver a mini-PC experience with full-size performance, reliability and complete ease.
Two versions built on the Intel Atom Quad-Core Processor which are launched in India provide users with a choice of two operating systems:
• Windows 8.1 – Pre installed with Bing and Windows 8.1, the Intel Compute Stick includes 32GB storage and 2GB memory.
• Linux – Pre-installed with Ubuntu 14.04, this offering of the Intel Compute Stick includes 8GB storage, 1GB memory.
Both devices come with Wi-Fi (802.11bgn) and Bluetooth 4.0 for connectivity, a USB 2.0 port to connect peripherals and a micro SD card slot for additional storage. The new generation computing device is versatile and is optimized to get the most out of the Intel Atom Quad-Core processor for games, videos, spreadsheets or presentations.
The Intel Compute Stick is currently available on Flipkart, India’s largest e-commerce marketplace. iBall also recently announced the launch of iBall Spelndo PC-On-Stick, powered by the Intel Atom Quad-Core Processor which runs Windows 8.1and has a 2GBRAM with 32GB in-built memory. The Intel Compute Stick will also be available through Intel Technology Providers across the country.
