A recent report suggests that the Pixel 7a could be Google's final model in the Pixel A-Series. Instead, Google may concentrate on selling premium smartphones in the future, with standard, Pro, and foldable models available. On 10 May, Google is scheduled to unveil the Pixel 7a, its next mid-range smartphone, which one leaker claims could be the brand's final entry-level model. The first mid-range smartphone from Google was the Pixel 3a from 2019.

Google will introduce several firsts to the Pixel A-Series this month

With the Pixel 7a, Google will introduce several firsts to the Pixel A-Series this month, including a 90 Hz display and wireless charging. The Google Tensor G2 chipset used by Pixel 7 Pro and the Pixel 7 will also power the Pixel 7a. The Pixel 7a will arguably bring Google's entry-level Pixel smartphones as near as they can go to the Pixel A-Series, albeit with a primary camera that is marginally poorer and less expensive components like a plastic back.

The Pixel 7a may be the last model in the Pixel A-Series

The Pixel 7 has spent most of this year in the sub-US$500 pricing range, but the Pixel 7a is anticipated to retail for US$100 less. Given all of this, it may not be surprising that the Pixel 7a may be the last model in the Pixel A-Series. Yogesh Brar, a tipster, is now reasonably optimistic that the Pixel 7a will be the latest device of its kind. Brar asserts on Twitter that the A series is about to end and that Google will only continue to sell the standard Pixel and the Pro model in the future.

In addition, Evan Blass just released three official pictures of the Pixel Fold, which Google is speculated to unveil alongside the Pixel 7a at I/O 2023 later this month. This is a rumour for the time being regarding the Pixel A-Series. However, Google has changed its A-Series lineup every year since the Pixel 3a and Pixel 3a XL were introduced in 2019. There would therefore be no surprise if the Pixel A-Series underwent another change following the Pixel 7a, which is expected to begin shipping later this month as well.
