Jaipur Vidyut Vitran Nigam : Spot Billing

Spot Billing project was started by Jaipur Vidyut Vitran Nigan Limited (JVVNL)

with a tie-up of Data Infosys to provide customers of JVVNL instant bills

through a manual machine as and when customer's meter reading is taken. Through

this project JVVNL can easily maintain records of its consumers, with their

meter and meter reading information, bill generation, payment information, bill

amendment, and meter change. Also the project has the provision of generating

the bills depending upon the consumer's tariff codes and other required

information. Solution is capable of generating the bills consumer-wise, book

number-wise, and division-wise it can also handle all the bill amendments,

Sundries, and various types of payments. The biggest challenge faced by JVVNL

was to change bi-monthly billing to monthly billing, which was to ensure that at

every month customers get their monthly bill at their doorstep.

Customers are also reminded through SMS and email about due date of their

bills. Customers can also view details of their bill online. Bills can also be

paid online which has significantly reduced bill payment queue at JVVNL office

as well as reduced customer handling.
