New Update

This is another cylindrical shaped portable speaker from JBL, similar to its two previous models Flip and Charge. Flip was a big hit in 2012, which had unmatchable sound quality in a small size and affordable price. In 2013 company introduced Charge which was in the premium segment and equipped with better battery life, and now JBL is back in the game with yet another speaker offering Pulse, which is effectively Flip with an integrated light system and its own built-in Led light which grooves to the tunes it plays and which is also the USP of this device.

This is slightly larger than Flip, but the tube-like speaker is small enough to carry around in your backpack. There's an array of 64 independent lights inside Pulse, and has 5 different light show modes which you can change at the touch of a single button. Pulse can glow an almost solid white, red, yellow, weak orange, green, aqua blue, dark blue, or purple, but generally mixes those colors in ways that appear to generate pinks and other mid-tone colors with rainbow effects. The JBL Pulse has two 40mm output drivers, rated 2x 6W and a bass port.

It is designed for easy connectivity with mobile devices via Wireless, Bluetooth and NFC to play music from any Bluetooth-friendly Android or iOS devices. The audio quality is also pretty impressive, till mid range you won't be disappointed with the quality with no distortion. So overall we feel it is quite a good speaker to set your house on party mode. It takes approx 2 hours to charge for 7-8 hours of playback, and you might take out 30-40min more if you keep the lighting feature off.
