An integrated solution for secure VPNs, gateway and firewall for corporates, RouteFinder Internet Security Appliance can be used to connect telecommuters, remote and supply offices to the head office over the Internet. This does away with the need for dedicated lines and dial-ups. Connectivity is through three 10/100 ports for LAN, WAM and DMZ.

The VPN is based on IPSec and PPTP protocols with 3DES 168-bit encryption. It provides 128 PPTP or 256 IPSec secure tunnels for connection. It also provides a packet-based firewall with NAT, a Web-caching server for better Internet performance and application layer security through proxying of SMTP, HTTP, DNS and SOCKS. You can also have

Internet-access control through client and site filtering. An interesting feature is e-mail virus protection, which uses a proprietary MultiTech anti-virus. Infected e-mail can be directed to an isolated server for further action.

The interface is browser-based and is fairly easy to configure and manage. You can log onto the management console over HTTPS or SSH for secure access to properties. At a time only one administrator can log in and hence it also serves as a monitor for unauthorized access. The RouteFinder generates real-time and comprehen- sive traffic monitoring and reporting logs for all the services it provides. Any abnormalities can also be passed to the system administrator over e-mail. 



This is a great product because of its quick, easy installation and manageability.
