As part of its ongoing commitment to support the users of the Vibe series smartphones, Lenovo has started rolling out the Android 4.4 KitKat update to its Vibe X and Vibe Z smartphones. The updates will be made available in a phased manner starting from the last week of May, 2014. Lenovo has also slashed the price of the Vibe X to INR 22, 999/- for the Indian market.

Vibe X:
Designed incredibly thin at 6.9 mm and 121 gms light, this 5 inch smartphone was the first offering in the premium Vibe series that had created a lot of buzz in the smartphone space in India. With this update, the Vibe X combines an uncompromising design, rich display and cutting-edge camera technologies in a sleek package.

The update supports better application compatibility along with further security enhancements and bug fixes, and the UI gets a new look with lesser icons and a flawless incoming call interface. Efficient auto focus and white balance capabilities ensure better camera experience with clearer, sharper, vividly rich and vibrant images. The upgrade also boosts Lenovo power manager for improved battery utilization. The initial tests show approximately 15-20% enhancement in its performance*.

Vibe Z:
Powered with a blazingly fast, power-efficient Qualcomm® SnapdragonTM 800 processor, the Vibe Z is a combination of striking looks, exquisite design and captivating performance. The KitKat 4.4 update equips Vibe Z with better 4k video playback compatibility. It also boosts the Quad-core CPU for enhanced UI transitions and multi-sensory user experience, and makes the process of adding widgets to the home screen easy.

The multi-window mode on Vibe Z now lets you open and work on multiple apps simultaneously and resize them on the screen better than before. Also, enhanced notification access, wireless printing capabilities, updated theme centre, automatic profile changer and expanded accessibility APIs are some of the key upgrades that comes to Vibe Z with this update.
