LG Monster M3 Wireless OLED TV Series is Launching Next Month, Priced Starts $5,000 and Above

LG's massive 97-inch wireless OLED TV was one of the greatest things we saw at CES 2023, at least in terms of TV innovation. LG Signature OLED M3 only requires a power connection, fixed to the wall, everything else including video, audio, and network access, is wirelessly sent to the screen via a large black cube that serves as the TV's brain

The Giant TV now has a release date and will arrive in the UK in September at a price of (around $35,400). There are two smaller versions based on LG's OLED evo panels - an 83-inch model for 8,000 British pounds (about $10,000) and a 77-inch version for 6,000 British pounds (about $7,600).

According to LG's press release, these wireless TVs should also arrive in other parts of Europe and the US later this year, but US pricing was not revealed.

  • The Signature OLED M makes wall-mounting a giant (or not-so-giant) TV much easier, as there is no need for HDMI, optical or Ethernet cables inside the wall.
  • LG has also demonstrated with the stand-mounted versions of the M series that it allows you to place the TV in several different places in the room without having to deal with cables other than the power cord.
  • It also means you have more freedom to place your peripherals like Blu-ray players, cable players, AV receivers and streaming media players almost anywhere you want. They are all connected.
  • OLED M's Zero Connect Box can be placed up to 10 meters (about 32 feet) away from the screen.
  • The Zero Connect Box then takes the inputs and outputs from those devices and streams them through its own  high-frequency wireless connection, which LG claims is up to three times faster than standard Wi-Fi 6E and can work in real time video and audio transmission at 4K 120 Hz.
  • It also supports the transmission of HDR formats such as Dolby Vision and multi-channel audio such as Dolby Atmos.

How will wireless setup box work with a TV?

According to LG, to maximize the distance between the Zero Connect Box and the OLED M screen, the box must be placed towards the screen. We assume this means the Zero Connect Box needs a clear line of sight to the screen, but we won't be able to test that until we install the Signature OLED M in our new studio. When we do, we'll tell you exactly. What to expect from this unique OLED TV.

What is MLA technology in OLED Tv's?

It is important to note that, like the LG G3 OLED TVs, the only 77-inch model features LG's new MLA technology, which offers significantly higher brightness than other LG OLED TVs. The 83-inch and 97-inch M series models, like the same-sized G3 OLED devices, do not have MLA technology, although it is important to note that the larger the screen, the more light is produced, reducing its size the need for a super bright screen.
