Maharashtra Knowledge Corporation Limited - MKCL Auto Installers

The Problem: MKCL launched a state wide IT literacy program in Maharashtra through the PPP model. This reaches out to 5000+ centers across rural and urban areas of the state. MKCL faced the challenge of sending its eLearning software to all the centers. Remote deployment to these centers was not possible due to Internet bandwidth constraint.

The Solution: Various products were evaluated to create a single auto-installer DVD with an operating system which would install all the software automatically without any user intervention, which would enhance and hasten the learning experience of students. Using this tool they could record the software installation process, insert license keys (which are invisible to the user) and even modify the installer screen to insert logo and support information.

The Result: The auto-installer DVD was sent across to 5000+ learning centres. Now, the centre coordinator could install all the required software with a single mouse click and save enormous time and effort. After this DVD the need for technical expertise to install an operating system or software is reduced and this reduces the budget that was reserved for people with technical expertise.
