Mahindra Group : Project Harmony

M ahindra Group is a federation of autonomous companies where group companies

have autonomy of decision making. The group consists of 100+ companies. The

earlier IT landscape consisted of ERP solutions deployed at individual sector

level. Harmony, it was proposed to have common IT infrastructure and platforms

process across the group. It also defined the way forward for various processes

to meet the needs of individual business units.

In lines with this strategy, business processes in the functions of HR,

Finance-Accounts and Procurement were harmonized across the Group.

The most important change was incorporated in the IT architecture landscape

wherein all different instances of SAP into a single instance (ECC 6.0)
implemented on a single HARMONY instance.



The project, has resulted in improved effectiveness due to reduction of
administrative costs and also improving employee productivity due to integrated

analytics.
