The Problem: This requirement primarily came from the finance & accounts teams who have the gruesome task of timely deposit of various taxation documents like service tax, state VAT, etc with authorities at different locations. The time spent by individual team members was huge and actually a deterrent to employee productivity. Hence, this concept of Statutory Compliance Dashboard was formulated based on the ideation done with the CFO Jayantt Manmadkar.

The Solution: They obviously understood that although this requirement has been raised by the real estate sector, it would definitely be applicable across all group companies as well. Hence, while designing the solution, it was ensured that going forward it should potentially cover all sectors, companies & locations across the Mahindra group.The solution uses most of the out-of-the-box features of SharePoint and is integrated with AD and Exchange 2010.

The Result: The prime reason for selection of SharePoint was that they wanted a solution which would require minimum training effort. There was a huge change management involved here as it needed the user to alter the way they were doing work today. Hence, ease of use for the user was a major requirement for faster adoption and SharePoint being already deployed fitted their needs.
