New Update

Even though the company had implemented acceptable usage policy for IT

resources, monitoring and controlling of illegitimate use of IT resources at

remote branches had become a mammoth task for IT team. Because of all this, it

was decided to transform the IT Infrastructure.

Manappuram Secured Information Access Network project was finally implemented

and it included web filtering at branch offices, establishing dual VPN tunnels

through 2 different ISPs at Head Office, load balancing and auto fail-over of

the above VPN tunnels, internet load balancing and auto fail-over at branches,

centralized monitoring and reporting of all VPN tunnels, inventory control of

hardware items and asset tracking, intrusion detection & prevention, antivirus

updation, Windows vulnerability management, end-point security, device

authentication, data leakage prevention, system usage monitoring at the Branch

level & complete security if the company decides to go in for online

transactions. Security at branch-level was achieved with controls like - USB

storage blocking, Internet access control, Instant messaging block, Peer-to-Peer

block, automated identification of malicious host and blocking, IP spoofing

protection and automated updating of Windows vulnerabilities. The overall impact

of the project was reduced transaction time at the branch which in-turn helps

the customer to get the loan in reduced time.
