Canon launches new printer
Canon has launched BJC-5100 printer for
A3-size printing. The printer has printing speeds of 10-ppm for monochrome
and 4-ppm for color printing, and prints at a resolution of 140x720 dpi.
The BJC-5100 has a dual-cartridge system and allows bi-directional
printing. The printer uses Canon’s PhotoRealism technology. Price: Rs

Iomega launches 250 MB
drives and disks
Iomega has launched the Zip 250 MB drive
and disks. The latest zip-drive is two-and-a-half times larger in capacity
than the original 100 MB zip-drive. Zip-250 drives can also read and write
to 100 MB zip disks. The Zip-250 drive includes: one Zip 250 MB disk,
IomegaWare software, and Norton Zip Rescue software. Recordit software is
also included for recording and playing voice and music on the computer

HCL launches Dragon
Naturally Speaking 4
HCL and Dragon have launched version 4 of
Dragon Naturally Speaking–a voice recognition software. This will enable
you to browse the Net by voice. You can activate IE through voice
commands, jump to links, surf book-marked sites, use e-mail, chat, etc. It
has a training time of about three-to-five minutes to learn your voice.
Customized according to Indian accent, the software has a vocabulary of

HP has launched DJ
970 Cxi, a new photo-quality Deskjet printer. The printer has a resolution
of 2400x1200 dpi and HP’s enhanced Photo REt color-layering technology.
The printer has speeds of 12-ppm for black and 10-ppm for color printing.
Its advanced features include duplex attachment to provide automatic
two-sided printing, and an ink indicator for showing low-ink levels.
