Today, there are ample USB peripherals available in the market and continue
to increase by each passing day. In the past, it was a great challenge to
combine USB peripherals with KVM switches. ATEN has introduced a solution in
this KVMP (KVM+ Peripheral) switch. It is a two-port USB KVM switch, which as an
extra feature supports USB peripherals, also. The switch is named as Aten Master
View KVMP Switch CS-1732A. It allows you to install USB peripherals on it. When
you install any USB peripheral (like printer, scanner, USB CD or DVD writer
etc.) on the KVM switch, every system connected to the switch can share all the
recourses offered through this USB peripheral. You can also easily remove this
privilege at your will depending on the specific needs.
Dual functionality
We can call this switch dual-functional KVM-USB switch because the user now is
able to control two to four computers and two additional USB devices connected
to the USB ports on the front and rear panel of switch. With dual interface
supported it can support PS/2 keyboard and mouse or USB keyboard and mouse. High
range USB is supported at a transfer rate of 1.5/12 mbps. Audio enable property
in this Aten Master View USB KVMP Switch-1732A is a great feature and LED
display which supports high resolutions. It has two LEDs: green and orange. The
orange one reflects Auto Scan Mode for monitoring all the systems and show that
the systems are switched on. While the green one indicates whether any USB
device is connected to the switch or not.
Easy to install
This switch has good video quality and complete keyboard emulation for
error-free booting. It supported all types of Operating Systems like Windows,
Mac, Solaris and Linux and also compatible with DOS. The best part of this
switch is that it is easy to install because no software is required for
installing this device and there is also no need for extra power supply.
Installation will automatically start when you connect this KVMP switch with a
system. When you attach one cable of KVM switch to one system then one of the
orange LEDs lights up, which means one system is attached to the KVMP switch.
The dim-orange LED indicates that one system is online, while the bright orange
LED means you are connected to any of the systems through cable. When you
connect USB device with KVMP switch the dim-green LED burns. It indicates that
some USB device is connected to the switch.
BOTTOM LINE: Packed with so many striking new features, it's worth its
price.
