The wireless communications and digital multimedia solutions provider has asserted that unlike other octa-core processors that are already available in the market, it will not run only half the cores at any given point and that it will assure great performance and power efficiency.

Already Samsung has announced Exynos 5 Octa - which it has said is faster and can use all eight cores - and Qualcomm has in its line-up Snapdragon 800.

Meanwhile, MediaTek is also evolving a triple SIM technology to enable use of three SIM cards on a smart device.

The company's processors are used more widely by low-cost Android device makers than any sophisticated ones.
