WhatsApp will have an AI chatbot, as Meta revealed at the Meta Connect 2023 event. Initially, only a select group of American consumers could access the chatbot. The most recent WhatsApp beta for Android reportedly has a new shortcut button that allows users to rapidly access the AI chatbot without having to browse through their conversation list, according to a report by WABetaInfo.

According to reports, the new AI chatbot button will be found in WhatsApp Chat section and placed a new Chat button. This new feature is expected to make it easier for users to access the AI chat and get the help they need. During the Meta Connect event, Mark Zuckerberg introduced Meta, the latest AI chatbot that uses his latest comprehensive language model research and the powerful Llama 2 model. Chatbots are designed to help users with various tasks, such as planning trips or making recommendations, telling witty jokes, hosting group chat discussions, and serving as an expert source of information like ChatGPT, Bard, or Bing.
The company said it partnered with Microsoft and Bing Chat to improve the chatbot's ability to deliver real-time online results. Similar to text-to-image generators like MidJourney and Bing Image Creator, Meta's AI Assistant allows users to create realistic images from scratch using a simple, imagine command and all this is available for free.
New status feature and Improvements
Meanwhile, WhatsApp is also introducing a new feature that allows users to filter and view status updates in a vertical list. This improvement is being tested to make it easier for users who do not follow any channel to receive muted status updates, eliminating the need to navigate to a particular section via the three-dot menu.
WhatsApp development tracking website WABetaInfo reports that WhatsApp is introducing a new feature that will allow users to filter and view status updates in a vertical list. This feature is currently available to Android beta testers who have installed the latest version 2.23.24.11.
Some beta testers may also see a new "Look downquot; button that quickly displays a vertical list of their status updates. In this section, some beta testers have access to four filters that help systematically categorize status updates. These filters display all status updates from their contacts, allowing users to keep track of everything their contacts have shared without missing a single update.
