The Canvas 4 comes with better quality body finish that includes aluminum plating which is there on the side. The phone is slimmer and lighter than the Canvas HD, however, Micromax has used plastic body at the back making it look glossy.

The phone sports a 5-inch TRU-HD display with 1280x720 pixels resolution similar to that of the Canvas HD. In terms of hardware you have the same 1.2 GHz quad-core processor from Mediatek and powered by Android 4.2 Jelly Bean v.

It gets 1 GB RAM, 16 GB internal memory out of which 12.4 GB is usable and expandable up to 32 GB via microSD. The Canvas 4 comes with a 13 MP rear camera that offers multiple features like Panorama mode, Image stabilization and five lens wrapped. At the front, you have a 5 MP camera that supports better quality self-clicked pictures.

The latest addition to Canvas 4 has been on the software front. The phone comes with blow and shake to unlock feature making use of two hands to operate redundant. Sadly, Micromax has stuck with 2,000 mAh battery and with new gesture-based features and applications this could hinder the life of the battery to less than a day.

Micromax Canvas 4 will be available for Rs 17,999 by end of this week.
