New Update

Micromax tries to push itself to the A-list category of smartphones with its first full HD display phone. We see noticeable improvement in the handset ergonomics and in other features. It has rounded edges and feels more compact in hand; construction wise we feel it is just a little better than its previous models.

The back of the Canvas Turbo is dominated by a non-removable aluminium cover which is flanked by two plastic strips at the top and bottom. The top strip also houses the 13-megapixel camera lens that protrudes out a little, and a big LED flash.

The full-HD screen is one of the phone's headline features, the text and images look crisp and sharp but in colour reproduction it fails to impress. The display offers decent viewing angles and good sunlight legibility. Similar to most other Android devices, there are five customisable home screens on the Canvas Turbo's UI that can be filled with app shortcuts and widgets. Most of the software features on the Canvas Turbo are similar to the Canvas 4.

The cameras on the Canvas Turbo are average. The phone comes with a 2,000mAh battery, which will last you a full day with medium to heavy usage. The calling quality is good and we noticed no call drops as such while using the phone. One notable part about the Canvas Turbo is its lack of expandable storage. Yes, you heard that right the phone comes with 16 GB (12.4 GB usable) internal memory only and no microSD slot for further expansion. So, you can only store your data i.e. music, images, docs on the phone itself. The battery life of the Turbo is satisfactory and will last through a day without much fuss.
