Micromax launches Canvas Win, its first-ever Windows Phone devices in India

Micromax enters into the Windows based smartphone market with its two new entry-level smartphones. Competition is being stiffer in the smartphone industry, thus, companies are bringing budget devices with more powerful hardware. Micromax introduces its two new Windows 8.1 based devices - Canvas Win W121 and Canvas Win W092, in India. The company has become the first Indian smartphone player to bring windows-based phone.

Both devices run over Windows 8.1 OS and has qualcomm snapdragon 200 processor that clocks at 1.2 GHz. The Canvas Win W121 has 5-inch HD IPS display and Win W092 boasts 4-inch IPS display. Both has 1 GB of RAM and 8 GB internal memory, but expansion is possible with Win W121 up to 32 GB, not with Win W092. The W121 has 8 MP camera at the rear with flash and 2 MP front facing camera, while W092 has 5 MP rear camera with flash and 0.3 MP camera at front. The dual-SIM Canvas Win 121 gets power from a 2000 mAh battery and Win 092 comes with a 1500 mAh battery to power-up the device.

Both windows phones are packed with a loads of features and apps making the phone more personalized and useful for day-to-day needs and fun. From movies, games to music, company has packed more features, so that they can target from professionals to students, a wide range of customers, looking for a device for their specific needs. The Microsoft's cloud storage tool is preloaded on the phones that adds many other capabilities including Bing, Skype, Xbox Games, Office 365, etc.

The Canvas Win W121 and Canvas Win W092 priced at Rs. 9,500/- and Rs. 6,500/- respectively, will be available across retail stores and e-com portals starting early July 2014.
