Micromax to Expand its footprint into Accessories Segment

Micromax Informatics announces its focus on Accessories segment, in the next few weeks, Micromax will introduce products including Sound Bars, Bluetooth speakers, Earphones and Power banks, which will enhance the consumer experience of its core products that includes Mobiles, LED televisions and ACs.

Commenting on the expansion, Rohan Agarwal, Vice President, Consumer Electronics, Micromax Informatics said, “India is one of the fastest-growing mobile phone markets in the world and consumers today are spending a lot their time with the smartphones, fuelling demand for mobile accessories. The market currently is highly unorganized and some industry estimates suggest that it could be to the tune of $1 billion and there is tremendous scope. A consumer today expects quality products and is willing to pay a little extra if the product offers competence and quality.”

He added, “Micromax understands the need gap and the pain points the consumers have, no matter how much battery you pack into a smartphone, a power bank is required, for LED TVs – a sound bar is essential for enhanced viewing experience. Our focus will be to be very close to our consumer’s need and introduce products that enhance their experience.”

Micromax will be stepping up the game in the home entertainment segment by introducing the new Sound Bars in next 15 days which will be available through both offline and online channels. The power banks will be made available in the next 10 days.
